4g is gigabytes about 1024 bytes it determines how much space your cell phone, computer, etc so 4g on a cell phone is pretty good but its wack when its compared to windows xp whitch can hold about 80gb so well hope that helps you

However, it's not being considered 4G, anymore. True 4G can be find in the objectives specified here.

You might note that despite the LTE article claiming the technology is not 4G, the 4G article references it at 4G more than once. All of the technologies that meet the objectives of true 4G are currently nothing more than theoretical samples and are not available for a wide scale distribution.
4G will likely operate within the 700Mhz spectrum that the analog television stations broadcast on some time after the digital transition…
4G is still some ways away… the 3G networks cost the carriers alot of money, and they are still making money for the companies… so it will be several years before 4G really starts coming out…
